In the law of attraction, some people don’t understand that the effect is after the cause. After. What you see around you is the result of your past thinking, your past thoughts. Your current thoughts actually re-create your now. Christian Larsen (author of the Optimist’s Creed) understood this and took it a bit further with his 1912 book “Ideal Made Real”. He stated, with ample examples, how you have to create your ideal world in your mind before you can get it to show up around you. The Lord both instituted prophecy and commissioned prophets because He greatly desires to speak to us through both His written word and His spoken word. Because God is forever the God of the present and He wants to speak to us, the Enemy, in his malevolence, has created counterfeit prophets. As a consequence, the Lord has provided us the means to test both prophets and prophecy so we can discern the genuine from the counterfeit.
